Another direction for a Sympathy Card

I went a different direction with this sympathy card.  I started with the sentiment image and built around the image.  Surfing the web I found a few challenges that helped me quickly put together a color scheme and a sketch!

1.     Shopping my stash I found some Costco felted paper purchased at least 10 years ago in turquoise.  Looking through the scraps I found red card stock and yellow card stock that complemented the tone of the felted paper.  Kraft card stock finished the color selections.
2.     The sentiment was stamped in Versa Magic Red Magic and Red Brick to get the right color to match the red card stock I found in my stash.  A Spellbinders Petite Ovals Large was placed around the image . . . and there was a need to embellish a little more.  A hunt in my flourish rubber stamps brought out a Magenta stamp that just fit the bill and was of similar design to the turquoise felted paper.
3.     Base Kraft card stock is trimmed to 10” x 6 ½ ” and folded in half, Yellow card stock is 4 7/8” x 6 3/8”, Turquoise felted paper is 4 3/8” x 5 7/8”, and the Red card stock is 1 ½” x 4 7/8”.  I used part of the scrap from the Kraft card stock to punch mini scallop borders and the oval backing the sentiment.

    1. It is fun to use supplies that have been "well aged" like the felted paper, yet are timeless!
