This color challenge is right up my alley, I love all shades of purple! Retro Rubber's challenge is:
This stamp has been in my collection for awhile, but sadly had never seen ink. What was I waiting for?
The focal image is Penny Black's Lovely Lilac release in 2020. It is perfect for coloring directly on the image technique.
- Using Memento Dual Tip markers (water based) the parts are colored and stamped using a stamp positioner. First Bamboo leaves for the stems. The flowers are stamped from lightest to darkest color: Lulu Lavender, Sweet Plum, and Grape Jelly. The stamp positioner allows for multiple layers of coloring. The secret is to gently mist water over the coloring on the stamp itself to reactivate the ink.
- The sentiment is from Inkadinkado Thanks released in 2011 and is stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves.
- Memento Bamboo Leaves is used to edge the card front after it is trimmed.
- The edges of the card base are inked with Grape Jelly and an ink dauber.
This was an enjoyable card to create and the results are elegantly satisfying! Please do come and play along with us at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.
