After a very long hiatus I am finally back to crafting a little!  This card is for Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and our last challenge for 2023,  Merry Christmas!  Do stop by and see all the other wonderful creations! 

 

 

My family moved 1,700 miles to a new state.  Between packing, moving, and unpacking--I finally have access to part of my craft supplies.  This is what I came up for RRBC #221, Merry Christmas.

 

 

Only some of my stamps have made the move, the ancient mounted versions.  Perfect for Retro Rubber!  (A long story for another time.)  After a quick review of my paper scrap bins I pulled this card together.  It was a fun time creating after so many months!

• After pressure embossing Spellbinders Music embossing folder, Memento Black ink is gently rubbed over the raised surface.
• The image by Hero Arts from 1993 is stamped Brilliance Moonlight White and heat embossed with Creations Unlimited embossing powder in Silver Ice.  
• The image is die cut with Spellbinders Labels Thirty Two,  A layer of Canson silver metallic paper is also die cut with a larger Label.  
• Scrapbook. com Sprigs are die cut from two colors of dark green paper. 
• To contrast the white embossed card front the edges of the card base are inked with Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy.  
• The various layers are adhered together for a simple Christmas Card.

YOU card for Tic Tac Toe at Retro Rubber

 We love seeing all the different interpretations of a Tic Tac Toe board over at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  Come check it out and play along!

 I took this opportunity to make another card for my son, as he graduated from Candidate to Cadet and has completed the toughest part of his Oregon Youth Challenge Program.

The set is Hot Off the Press "You greeting" released in 2018.

• I selected some patterned papers from my card making kit scrap stash.  These happen to be Heidi Grace from 2003.   The papers are die cut with My Favorite Things Die Namics Modern Stitched Rectangles STAX.  
• The "you" is die cut from the red cardstock that backs the patterned paper on the card front.  
• The sentiment is stamped in Versa Color Indigo and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then it is die cut with Lawn Cuts Everyday Sentiment Banners, 2016.
•  The card is adhered together with adhesive.

Through the Trees Card for Sketch Challenge

We are having fun in 2023 at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  Check out this sketch for the next two weeks and our 200th challenge!

This card will be sent to my son to encourage him during his stay at Oregon Youth Challenge.  Masculine themed and fun to create.

This is a stamp set with many sentiments by Pink Fresh "Through the Trees" released in 2019.  

• The image of the trees is stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves then turned 180 degrees and stamped again in Northern Pine.  The image is trimmed to 4" x 5 1/4" and adhered to the front of Kraft card base.
• Memento Northern Pine is inked onto a 1" x 4 1/4" strip of paper with an ink dauber.
• The sentiment is stamped on Kraft cardstock 1/2" x 4 1/4" in Memento Northern Pine.
• The two strips are adhered to follow the sketch.

Just Love You for Retro Rubber Challenge 199

Here we are with our second challenge of 2023 at Retro Rubber.  We are getting close to Valentine's Day so a color challenge working with Valentiney colors is appropriate!

A clean and simple card using cream, pink and silver was my choice for this challenge.

Unity Stamp Company has this really fun set called "Moon Beam and Heart Strings" released in Sept 2015.  I knew it would be perfect for a clean and simple one layer card.  

• The image is stamped in the center of the card with Delicata Silvery Shimmer and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  The image is also stamped off the edge of the card to both the right and left to create a string of hearts across the entire card.  The outside images are offset towards the top of the card.
  
• The hearts are colored in with Memento Dual Tip Marker in Angel Pink.
• The middle sentiment is from the Unity Stamp Company set and is stamped in Memento Angel Pink.  The "we" was masked before inking the stamp, as both my husband and I will be signing this card.
• Technique Tuesday's Say It Happy "Happy Valentine's Day" is stamped int he lower right corner in Delicata Silvery Shimmer and Heat Embossed in Silver embossing powder.  

Clean and simple can be very elegant and effective, as well as quick to put together once the design decisions are made!  Enjoy all the cards made by the design team over at Retro Rubber!

A Winter themed Birthday Card

We are back for another year of playing with our Retro Stamps over at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.   Do come and check out the fun cards the design team created for this theme. 

 

I have a nephew with a January birthday, so this was a perfect opportunity to make a masculine card with a stamp set intended for Christmas by Taylored Expressions named Simply Stamped Pine Cones released in October 2015.

• The front of an A-2 card is pressured embossed with Darice's Snowflake Background embossing folder to add a bit of texture and interest to the base card.
• The pine cones are a three layer stamp set with matching dies.  I stamped them in Versa Magic Wheat, Sahara Sand, and Jumbo Java. 
• Lawn Fawn Large Cross Stitch die is used to create a card front.  Versa Magic in Sahara Sand is used to color the background, and Versa Magic is used to inked the edges.
• The bough is stamped in Versa Magic Jumbo Java, and the pine needles are Stamped in Tea Leaves.
• The sentiment is Taylored Expressions as well, their original Simple Strips released in April 2019.   It is stamped in VersaFine Nocturne and heat bossed with clear embossing powder.  A matching die cuts the entire set out at one time.  It is lightly sponged with Versa Magic in Wheat.
• The layers are adhered together using dimensional foam tape behind the card front and the center pine cone.  The sentiment is adhered directly to the card front panel.
