Anything Goes for Retro Rubber

Everyone's favorite challenge!  Anything Goes for the next two weeks at Retro Rubber.  Please do check out what the design team has created, we have a talented bunch of ladies!

We have three simple rules to participate:  1) Use at least one stamp that is more than a year old 2) Tell us how old said stamp is 3) Enter up to ten (10) challenges including ours.

I have a clean and simple sympathy card to share.  There are times in our lives where having sympathy cards on hand is important, so they can be posted quickly to the bereaved family.

  • I started with a Fancy Pants Designs Pollen Dust stem and leaves.  The 12" x 12" set was released in 2014.  It has sooooo many possibilities with all the different designs.  I stamped the stem and leaves in Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy along with the sentiment by Stampendous 2012 Encouraging Words set.
  • The flowers are stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent Poppy.
  •  The card front is inked in Brilliance Pearlescent Poppy and the card base in Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy.

A quick and easy card with simple lines, but flower color pops.  This card was created when I had about 15 cards to make for family members.  I used the same design for two cards each, which helped my creativity stay fresh but not be overwhelmed.  As it turned out, only one set was needed . . . we were blessed by the recovery of my uncle.

I do hope you will join us at Retro Rubber for this challenge, and have a little fun!  As always, thanks for stopping by!

Learn how to make a Quick Father's Day Card for Imagine

Learn how to make a Quick Father's Day Card

 By Neva Cole

Today I will be demonstrating how to make a quick multi-layered card using three stamps and Versa Color and StazOn inks.  This tone on tone card is a simple way to create a wonderful card for the Father in you life.

 Skill:  Beginner

Time: 30 minutes

Directions

Step 1

Stamp the sentiment in Versa Mark Mountain Lake and heat emboss with Sparkle Embossing Powder.  Then die cut the sentiment with Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners.

Step 2

Use Versa Color Mountain Lake and stamp the Tape Measure and the Love Beyond Measure around the perimeter of an A-2 card base.  Ink the edges of a 3 1/2" x 4 5/8".  Stamp the Tape Measure in StazOn Ink in in Jet Black, die cut with matching die.

Step 3

Pressure emboss the 3 1/2" x 4 5/8" with Spellbinders Maze Embossing Folder.  Lightly ink with Seafoam.  Stamp the the Love Beyond Measure on card front.

Retro Rubber Tic Tac Toe Just Saying Thank You Card

Retro Rubber has a new Tic Tac Toe to play along with for the next two weeks!  Do check out what amazing things the Design Team created!

I always need a few Thank You cards in my stash, and this challenge was perfect to use some of my really pretty spring paper scraps from a Basic Grey collection Mint Julep released in 2012.  So very retro paper too!  I went with the Patterned Paper, Heat Embossing, and Ribbon column.

  • The stamp is Happy Day by Studio G from 2011 when they were still made of rubber!  It is stamped in Encore Teal and heat embossed with Iridescent embossing powder.  The collection is two sided so the coordinating papers are all from the Min Julep collection.
  • The sentiment is die cut with TT Die Banners.
  • The square and rectangles are both sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Squares and Stitched Rectangles.
  • The bow is made from layered sheer yellow and lopped edged pink ribbon.
  • The final touches are the Butterflies!  First the paper is inked with Versa Mark Dazzle and then heat embossed with Iridescent embossing powder.  Then die cut with Cuttle bug Springtime Confetti.  They are the perfect size to coordinate with the small print flowers.

Please do join along with our challenge at Retro Rubber.   We have a few simple rules:  1) Use a stamp at least one year old  2) Tell us how old the stamp is  3) Enter up to ten challenges including ours.  Thanks for stopping by!

I would like to enter into the following challenge as I based my card off their simple but great sketch!

Mother's Day Gate fold card

I recently took a class through Heartfelt Creations using their new Gateway Dies.  The paper collection from Heartfelt Creations is from 2016, Berry Blossoms.  The finished card was very pleasing!  I hope you enjoy my version of this card!

Along with the Berry Blossoms stamp and Die and the Floral Basic Shaping mold I made some quick flowers to decorate the front of the card.  They are stamped in Memento Angel Pink and sponged in Lilac Posies.  The sentiment is also Heartfelt Creations and is stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid.     The center of the flowers are decorated with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Dandelion Yellow and Suze Weinburg's Mini Mosaics in Cracked Corn.  The front is decorated with the Scalloped Flourish Gateway Die and Elegant Swirl Die.

The interior also used the Elegant Swirl Gateway Die and Scalloped Flourish Gateway Die.  The sentiments are from Unity Stamp Company's . . . . Mama's & Grandma's.  All are stamped in Memento Northern Pine.

The card kit was put together before the online class, but I didn't really have time to complete all the details, so I went back and finally finished the card this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by, as always I enjoy your comments.  FYI, if you receive emails from my blog that "widget" is being phased out.  I've not figured out how to send out emails once this service stops.
