We have another fun challenge for you at Retro Rubber BlogChallenge, colors that are often associated with another season but are used
for a summer project. Please join us and
have a little fun!
I went with just the three colors: white, Candy Red, and
Pearlescent Ivy for this thank you card.
I used Fancy Pants Designs Bella Brush set. This set was a sheet of 12” x 12” acrylic
stamps, and it was retired for several years when I bought it in about 2008. So many options and I’ve not even scratched
the surface! I started with some foliage
stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy and heat embossed with clear embossing
powder. Next I added in a few of the
flowers in Brilliance Rocket Red but heat embossed with Candy Red embossing
powder. The sentiment is from
Inkadinkado Thanks set from 2011, which is stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent
Ivy and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Elizabeth Craft Designs 1120 Stitched
Rectangles provide the perfect frames for the stamped images. I added a bit of SEI bakers twine across the
top and threaded it through the little pierced holes. A tiny bow attached with a glue dot finishes
off the top layer. I love the shimmer of
the Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy which I inked on with an Ink Blusher. The card base has the Brilliance Rocket Red
to add the last little zing of color for the card.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Do go visit Retro Rubber and play along with
our challenge. Remember to use at least
one stamp that is more than a year old and let us know how long you’ve had it
in your stash! Enter up to 10 challenges

I love the way you added flowers to the pretty scroll work as well as the bakers twine threaded into your piercing. I bet this card shines in person with all of the embossing! Lovely details, Neva!
ReplyDeleteNeva, your card feels kind of Chrismassy to me...I think I have Christmas on the brain. I really like the image, it really pops against that white background. Cx
ReplyDeleteClean, simple and striking colour combination! The way the flowers pick up the card base colour make the whole thing zing. Perfect placement of those rocket red flowers. Lovely work!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card that captured the colors very well. Perfect thank you card during this time of year. Great card, Neva!
ReplyDeleteNeva, your card is lovely, love the green swirl with the placement of the flowers. I love the final touch with the twine.
ReplyDeleteNeva, I just love your card. That stamped image in two tones is striking. I really sat and stared at it for a while, just taking in the beauty.❤️
