Time for the ever-popular theme at Retro Rubber . . .
Anything Goes! So drag out your stamps
(at least a year or more older) and show us your creativity!
I have a need for thank you cards, so I went for a quick and
easy fall themed version. I was inspired
by CAS(E) this sketch challenge, and this card came together in less than 10
minutes.
First the cream cardstock is pressure embossed with Darice
Fall Leaves Swirl then inked with Memento Peanut Brittle in to highlight the
design. A strip of cream vellum is
stamped with a very old Stamp Out Art from at least 1999 in Delicata Dark Brown
Shimmer and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The sentiment is Studio Calico from 2009 and
it is stamped in Delicata Celestial Copper and heat embossed with clear
embossing powder. The leaf is colored in
with Delicata Celestial Copper and brush tip Fantastix. Since the ink is pigment based it will not
dry on the vellum and thus it can be heat embossed with clear embossing
powder. The vellum is wrapped around the
pressure embossed baking and everything is adhered to the Kraft cardstock card
base.
Have some fun and join us at Retro Rubber with your Anything
Goes project. Just remember to use your
stamps from the past and to enter only up to 10 challenges.
I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:
Love the embossed leaf pattern as well as the beautiful and the embossed leaf in the front. I love stamping with a color and then using the embossing ink if not pigment ink with the stamping and clear embossing powder as well. The colors are beautiful. Thank you for sharing your beautiful card with us at The Rubber Buggy and can't wait to see your next beautiful card or project with us soon. Hugs Nancy Hill, Design Team for The Rubber Buggy
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty thank you card! The embossing folder is wonderful and love how you highlighted the pattern with ink. Happy Thanksgiving!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty take on the sketch!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you've used ink to highlight that wonderful swirly leaf design. At first glance, I thought you'd done some sort of watercolour stamping technique. I didn't know you could get cream vellum - it's perfect. Lovely card, Neva.
ReplyDeleteStunning card, Neva! Both embossing techniques take top honor with this card! You may call it CAS but it is so elegant with the neutral colors and shine. Well done, teammate!!
ReplyDeleteI love embossed backgrounds Neva, I love the way you have added colour and kept the palette simple. You are the mistress of vellum in my mind, you use it so well. Claire x
