Gnarly . . . it's the 80's Thinking of You card

Our color challenges at Retro Rubber this year have been inspired by the decades.  For this challenge we are headed to the 80's!  Please do come join the fun and enter your project in our gallery!

Although my card does not represent the color pallet as shown above, it does include muted mauve, blue, grey, and tan.  Hot of the Press You Greetings from 2018 are front and center on this masculine card.

  • In my scrap card supply bin I have papers from two ancient Basic Grey collections, Granola and Aged and Confused that had that gnarly feel. The background is trimmed to 4" x 5 1/4", the grey is trimmed to 3" x 5 1/4", the the strip is 1 1/4" x 5 1/2".
  • All edges are inked with Memento Luxe in Sweet Plum.
  • The "YOU" is die cut from the Hot Off the Press You Greeting die set.
  • The layers are positioned to determine the location of the sentiment "thinking of" which is stamped in Sweet Plum.  Just a touch of muted mauve from the color scheme!

  1. Neva, your card has 3 or more of the colors on our inspiration photo, I love the big and bold "YOU" word and the DSP compliments each other beautifully.
    Thank you for sharing.
