Retro Rubber goes Red, White, and Blue!

The challenge this month for Retro Rubber is to use Red, White, and Blue on your project.  It does NOT have to be patriotic, as you can tell by my submission for the the design team.  Check out the other DTer's contributions as well!

I decided to make a birthday card using a floral and butterfly motif.  I do like how it turned out, nice and cheery!

The flowers are both from the Bella Brush by Fancy Pants Designs from about 2004.  It was a large 12" x 12" sheet of acrylic stamps in a slightly grungy style.  The flowers are stamped in Memento Luxe Danube Blue and Love Letter.  The edges are inked with the same.  The sentiment is by Taylored Expressions In and Out Birthday from September 2014.  To finish the card I punched butterflies with my old Martha Stewart punches, I've had these from about 2000.

I think this a bright summery birthday greeting.  Create your own Red, White, and Blue card and share it with us over at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  Our rules are simple: use at least one stamp that is older than a year (needs a little inky love), enter 10 or fewer challenges, and no back-linking.

  1. Pretty and cheerful. Love those lacy butterflies and the hint of distressing on the edge of the sentiment strip.

  2. This is so beautiful. You created a great background and I love the butterflies.

  3. This is a fun and festive card, love the look of this flowers, the addition of the butterflies is a beautiful detail.
    Great card Neva.

  4. I love that you chose a non-patriotic theme for your card, Neva! The flowers and butterflies are just delightful and fresh!

  5. I really like this Neva, the popped up Butterflies are awesome. I have those punches too!! I like the blue edging you added, nice touch. Cx

  6. Hello Neva: I apologize for writing this comment so late, I've been super busy since my grandkids started Summer Break.
But your card is so pretty, colorful and fun, awesome take on our theme.
Hope you are having a great Summer so far.

I love to read your comments, they make me smile to know you enjoy my creativity! Thank you!
