We have a fun theme, Life's a beach! to play along with at Retro Rubber for the next two weeks. Please join us and create your own project for the challenge.
My summery theme is a shell inspired birthday card. I wanted a little texture so I added a bit of burlap to the center of the card.
The shells are from about 1999 or 2000, a set I purchased at the Portland Stamp convention. I didn't write down the date or manufacturer, so I am not able to share that information. I used several neutral colors of cardstock and each shell is stamped in a different color of Versa Magic including: Red Brick, Pumpkin Spice, Aspen Mist, Sahara Sand, Gingerbread, and Jumbo Java. One shell is stamped in Brilliance Moonlight White and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I think I achieved a nice array of realistic shells. Each shell is fussy cut.
A sheet of vellum is torn with a deckled edge ruler and then adhered to a section of light blue cardstock with four brass colored brads. The sentiment is from It's Your Day by Hero Arts 2013 and is stamped in Versa Fine Majestic Blue and heat embossed with Iridescent embossing powder. This layer is adhered to a Kraft card base. The burlap ribbon is adhered to the vellum layer then the shells are adhered, some with dimensional foam adhesive.
Please join us at Retro Rubber with you own summer theme on your card! We have a few simple rules: please use at least one stamp older than a year, enter no more than 10 challenges, and of course no back-linking. Thanks for stopping by!
Gorgeous card with a beach theme. I love the wonderful array of shells on it.
