Vacation theme at Ruby's Rainbow Challenge 109!

It is summer time and for most that means VACATION!  At Ruby’s Rainbow Challenges our theme is to create a project that celebrates vacations or travel.

I was totally inspired by a few things in my stash to create a fun little card for the theme.  Sizzix’s Airmail embossing folder by Tim Holtz created a base layer for the card.  It is pressure embossed on Kraft card stock and inked with Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black.  The suitcase is a fun die cut set by Quickutz that makes such a cute little suitcase!  The Travel Phrases images are by Scrappy Cat and are stamped in Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black on neutral card stock then fussy cut to fit the grungy theme of the card.  The U.S. outline is another old school Quickutz die cut, which was pressure embossed with Quickutz Goosebumps Dots.  I have a few of these Goosebumps mini folders and they are great for adding texture to small die cuts.  The finishing embellishments are Studio Calico Wood Veneers in the travel theme.  An A2 sized cream card stock base is layered with the Airmail design and a section of Recollections Burlap.  The various embellishments are adhered with glue dots.

This really fun card came together in about 30 minutes from concept to completion.  I spent the most time die cutting the cute suitcase and assembling it.  Come on over to Ruby’s RainbowChallenges and see what the rest of the Design Team has created to inspire you for this challenge.  Join along in the fun and link up your own project, it doesn’t have to be a card!
